Supporting Independent Cinema & Creative Projects
Gerry Feltmann Endowment exists to help independent film projects move from idea to screen — and to support meaningful creative work as it comes to life. With a current focus on short films, mid-length projects, documentaries, and independent work, the Endowment supports stories and artistic projects that are personal, cinematic, culturally relevant, and often difficult to fund through traditional paths.
While film and documentary projects are the primary focus, the Endowment remains open to select artist-led projects, including visual art, stage work, performance, and other creative forms that align with its purpose.
This site serves as a curated home for the films, filmmakers, artists, and creative projects supported through the Endowment.

Eligible projects may include short films, documentaries, web series, visual art, performance projects, stage plays, or other creative works seeking support for development, production, post-production, materials, or completion costs. The endowment is especially interested in independent film and documentary projects between 10–60 minutes, while remaining open to feature films and other compelling artist-led work.

We welcome applications from independent filmmakers and artists seeking support for creative projects and support. While we are especially committed to uplifting LGBTQ+ and queer-centered storytelling, artists from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

No. Submitting an application does not guarantee funding. All applications are reviewed based on available funds, project needs, and alignment with the organization’s mission.

Funding may be used for project-related expenses such as equipment, crew, locations, editing, production design, materials, festival submissions, or other costs connected to completing the work.
